Tamaranai no wa Koi na no ka (alt. title: たまらないのは恋なのか / eng. title: Is It Because of Love That I Can't Resist?) is a BL (boys love) shoujo manga written and illustrated by the mangaka Mia Sorahana. It began serialization on the Bessatsu Friend (Betsufure) magazine in 2023, and it is currently ongoing with 5 volumes and 24 chapters in Japan.

The manga tells the story of Misuzu Aoha, a delinquent student often stuck in fights. One day, Misuzu sees Kitahara Riku, the top student of the school, being sided by some bullies, so he decides to step in.
After this event, curiosity begins to grow inside Kitahara, that just doesn't seem to let go of his savior: he wants to know more about him. Misuzu, however, sends him away most of the time, as he believes that being with him brings nothing but trouble.
The story follows the growth of their friendship, which eventually turns into something more as they tear down walls and get to know each other better.

My opinion on this series is nothing but positive comments! As much as it may seem like your average shoujo plot (school setting, top student and delinquent... rings any bell?), I found this BL quite interesting. So much that I binged it all in one night (-w-;)
I loved seeing how Misuzu's fierce and solitary personality slowly changes thanks to Kitahara's constant attention and reassuring: thanks to him, Misuzu realizes that there's people that truly love him for who he is, and he's even willing to stop getting into fights for Kitahara! Such a sweet and soft read that, however, never bores you out & makes you love the characters because they're well written.
On top of that, I think it's worth noting that I'm an absolute sucker for Miss Sorahana's artstyle, that really makes everyone look jawdroppingly beautiful. If you end up liking this story, definitely check out her socials! She posts so many beautiful illustrations of our boys (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)♡
